BIOGAS, FARM GAS BIOGAS PURIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES AND BIOGAS FUEL STATIONS.

Biogas and Farm gas

1: Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of biogas digesters for feed specific usages; i.e. Industries that have concentrated organic aqueous wastes such as poultry, pork and food processing establishments can take full advantage of the installation of an Australian Biomass designed and installed biogas digester for the following reasons:

a: An Australian Biomass biogas digester utilizes naturally occurring anaerobic bacteria for the breakdown of organic wastes thus reducing their BOD considerably.

b: The principal by-products of the anaerobic digestion of organic wastes are: biogas and the spent supernatant.

c: Both by-products are of economic value. The biogas ( generally 58% methane and 30%+ Carbon Dioxide ) can be used either directly as a fuel for process heating, electricity generation or further purified and used as an automotive fuel. The Supernatant is used as a liquid agricultural fertilizer. Other by products from the anaerobic process can also be utilized.

2: All Australian Biomass biogas digesters are constructed from bolt together enamelled steel sheets. Typically either Boythorpe® or Permaglass® tanks.

3: Australian Biomass digesters do not have any special growth media or proprietary bacteria for facilitating so called 'fast' digestion. All Australian Biomass digesters have a nominal retention time of 22- 32 days. This longer retention time ensures a more complete digestion of the organic feed material. Temperature of operation is 35 degrees Celsius. Thermophilic temperatures ( 55OC - 65OC ) are an option that is

determined with specific clients.
